Project Planner

Simple, private, portable project planning.

Getting started

Open an existing plan — click Open plan to load a .json file from your computer.

Or start fresh — click + Add phase in the task panel to create your first phase, then add tasks inside it.

Building your plan

  • Phases organise related work. Each phase gets its own colour and a rolled-up bar on the chart.
  • Tasks sit inside phases. Set a start date, end date, status, and optional progress %.
  • Subtasks break a task into smaller steps — each gets its own bar.

Working with the chart

  • Drag a bar left or right to move it. Drag the edges to resize.
  • Click any bar or row label to edit details.
  • Filter tasks using the search box at the top of the task panel.
  • Undo any change with the Undo button or Ctrl + Z.

Saving your work

  • Click Save plan or press Ctrl + S to write changes back to your .json file. One file = one project.
  • Export SVG snapshots the current view — scales without losing quality, text stays selectable.
  • Store your plan file in OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive, or Google Drive to access it from any device and coordinate edits like any shared document.

Best experienced on a laptop or tablet — not optimised for phone screens.
